This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for ManumitMinistries.org to explain how site visitors’ information is handled when browsing, obtaining information, or conducting transactions on the site.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Personal data we collect

We will not trade or sell your personal information with anyone else. Data is generated from technical processes such as cookies, comments, contact forms, analytics, donation and payment processing. We will use your information to respond when you contact us or to process donations or orders. We will only share your information with third parties outside of our organization as necessary to fulfill your requests (e.g. to answer a question, process donations, ship an order, etc.) or with third party embeds as required to provide services on the site.

Cookies

We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve their access to our site and identify repeat visitors. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable tracking and targeting of user interests to enhance the experience. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

By default, WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users. That information may be shared with third party plugins that help provide service to you and some of the plugins used to develop this website may store cookies or collect data.

Data is also generated from technical processes such as comments, contact forms, analytics, and donation and payment processing. Thus, some of our plugins may use cookies on our site; however, we have no access to or control over their cookies.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

We collect information about you on our website during the donation and payment process. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, address, phone number, credit card/payment details, and other details for the purpose of processing your donations or payments. – Respond to your queries.

We may accept payments through Stripe, Give Lively, or another platform. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, Give Lively, or the other platform, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the donation or purchase total and billing information.

If you choose to create an account with us, the system may store:

– Your name, address, email, and/or phone number, which will be stored in your user profile or used to populate your information more easily for future donation or payment processing.

– Your donor comments if you choose to leave them on our website.

Please see the  Stripe Privacy Policy and Give Lively Privacy Policy for more details.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Meaning, these websites may use cookies, embed third-party tracking, collect data about you, or/and monitor or track your interaction with that embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Google Analytics:

Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google. Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of this site to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. Google may use the data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. Further information about handling user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy here.

Google Web Fonts:

For uniform representation of fonts, this site may use web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly. To achieve this, your browser has to establish a direct connection to Google servers. Google thus becomes aware that our web page was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web fonts is done in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation. Google does not use any information collected by Google Fonts to create profiles of end users or for targeted advertising.
If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.
Further information about handling user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy here.

YouTube
Our website may use plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. YouTube, as part of Google, adheres to Google’s Privacy Policy, which covers data collection, usage, and security, emphasizing that they do not sell user personal information.

If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Here the YouTube server is informed about which of our pages you have visited.
If you’re logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Further information about handling user data can be found in the data protection declaration of YouTube here.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
