Prayer Works

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Reflection

Prayer is more powerful than most of us realize. Some think of it as a sacred and formal process of worshipping God – fall on your knees, clasp your hands, close your eyes, and bow your head. But prayer is much less formal and much more meaningful.

The form doesn’t matter as much as the intention and investment. When we devote our time and intention to prayer, it helps to quiet our minds and ease anxious emotions. Prayer connects our hearts to God’s heart and aligns our spirit to His will. So we’re not just seeking Him to petition for requests, but we’re seeking Him to receive His peace and prudence for navigating life’s journey with clarity and confidence in every step. To align our lives with His perfect will.

Prayer

Dear Father God. Help me to develop a lifestyle of daily ongoing unceasing prayer. Not as a Biblical mandate or obligation, but as a privilege that I look forward to. To rest at your feet and connect with You more deeply. Amen.
